The 4 Basics of Hitting That Perfect Power Drive

Posted on Friday, 16th January 2009 in Golf Tips

Whatever you do Stay with your Routine. When you are under pressure and the adrenaline is flowing its imperative that you use the same pre-shot routine that you use for every shot you make.

When you get to your ball to make your shot you have to be very specific with your aim. If you are aiming for the centre of the fairway you need to focus on a point in the distance that is in line with the target. For instance to concentrate and focus it should be something small like the branch of a tree not just that big old tree!!. When you have that then at your set up pick a point in front of the ball that is in line with the target and aim the club at that.

Its very important to stay calm, it’s so easy to let the nerves take over when you are under pressure. If your hearts pounding and your breathing is heavy you really need to control them. Try counting your breaths. Breath in to the count of 5 and out to the count of 5. This should help keep your rhythm, control your nerves and help you focus.

Last but not least VISUALISE your shots. Have a positive mental attitude at all times I can not stress how important this is. What I do before the shot as part of my routine is close my eyes picture the shot I will be making watch the ball land at the spot I aimed at and SMILE (yes this re enforces the positive mind set and really annoys your opponent !!) Now when you set up you know you will hit the perfect golf shot.

How To Improve Your Game: Gold Swing Tips

Posted on Monday, 29th December 2008 in Golf Tips

The game of golf is truly an individual sport. The basics are the same for everyone; however, due to the differences in people’s body types no two people will ever have the same golf swing. Each person will have to adapt their bodies to perform a proper golf swing in their own way. Taking the time to develop your own method of playing golf will greatly improve your enjoyment and success at the game. Practicing the basic fundamentals of the game until they are ingrained in your muscles will lead to confidence on the course, and that confidence will lead to success and enjoyment of the game.

There are loads of resources both on-line and off that you can turn to for easy tips on improving golf swing. More than likely, you are looking for simple pointers on improving golf swing that you can start with golf swing system, because you are not in a position to hire a professional to help you improve your swing.

These are tips on improving golf swing that you can use every single time you are out, whether you are playing nine, eighteen or are just brushing up on the driving range.

-Rotating your hands through the Ball

Have you ever thought about what your hands and forearms are actually doing at the moment of impact? If not, please give this a try because it’s one of the most important parts of the swing.

Try to get into the impact position, like you are about to make solid contact with the ball. Now flip your trailing wrist like you were casting a fishing pole. This is referred to as a wrist break, and it’s not a move that you want to make in golf. So if you are trying to “flip” your hands through the ball at impact, this tip may help you understand the correct way to make this happen.

If you put a wrist watch on you’ll be able to visualize the correct moves to make. As your leading arm approaches impact the watch face should be getting close to pointing exactly down the target line, or to the flag. Now simply ROTATE the watch face so it’s pointed at the ground. With a club in your hands, you’ll see that this move makes your trailing wrist and forearm “flip” on top of your leading wrist and forearm.
You also see that this will help to “close” the face of your club nicely, that will both reduce your slice, and add distance. This is the correct move to be completing through impact.

It’s important to note that your forearms should be working together as well. Try to keep your forearms as close to each other as possible through the impact zone. If you can master this move, you’ll find increased distance and it will also do wonders for your slice.

Purchasing a video tape on improving golf swing may also help your game, because it will allow you to observe the techniques and positions used by the best in the game, and it will teach you exactly how to replicate them yourself. Watching golf on TV can also help in this manner as well and for another option you have to visit http://golf-swing-eureka.blogspot.com/

Above all, improving golf swing takes practice and lots of it. Once you have mastered the appropriate techniques and pointers on how to improve your swing, you need to put those techniques to work. Practice until you have unlearned your bad habits and learned the right way to swing. Practice as often as you can until your best swing has become second nature. You can never practice too much!

The Natural Golf Swing Is Based On Some Tips

Posted on Friday, 26th December 2008 in Golf Tips

Golf is a sport in which a player, using many types of clubs including a driver, a putter, and irons, hits a ball into each hole on a golf course in the lowest possible number of strokes. Golf is one of the few ball games that does not use a standardized playing area; rather, the game is played on golf “courses”, each one of which has a unique design and typically consists of either 9 or 18 holes. Golf is defined in the Rules of Golf as “playing a ball with a club from the teeing ground into the hole by a stroke or successive strokes in accordance with the Rules” Get yourself more involved in game with www.thegolfswingtest.blogspot.com/

1. To develop a simple, comfortable and effective grip. Your grip is the foundation of your golf swing. Make sure your grip is comfortable. It is important to develop a neutral grip that requires no compensations during the swing. The orthodox position with the V.s of both hands (formed by the forefinger and the thumb) pointing between the chin and right shoulder is a good place to start. Very few good players have grips with the V.s pointing very far from this position. If you want a little stronger grip move the left hand over to the right a little.

2. To learn how variations of the grip affect ball flight. Experiment with slight variations of your grip. Observe how the changes affect the flight of the ball. A weak grip encourages a slice or fade. A strong grip encourages a hook or a draw. The V.s formed by the index finger and thumbs on both hands should point between the chin and right shoulder.

3. To develop the best possible grip for you. Every golfer swings and grips the club differently. Over 90 percent of golfers use the Vardon or overlapping grip. Players with smaller hands sometimes find the interlocking grip, with the little finger of the right hand interlocked with the index finger of the left hand, works best for them. Players with smaller should use a baseball type grip.

Important Golf Grip Tip - have the feeling that the palm of your right hand mirrors the angle of the golf club face. To really ingrain the correct golf grip it is sensible to purchase a practice club like the Refiner Swing Trainer that has a pre-molded grip that positions your hands into the perfect golf grip. Regular practice with such a club will help you to be very comfortable with your golf grip. Make yourself ready for a game, we will help you by providing golf grip tips.

Golf Tips- 5 Basic Golf Swing Tips To Fine Tune Your Game!

Posted on Friday, 28th November 2008 in Golf Tips
Golf Tips

Basic golf swing tips may simply be all you that you require to keep you from striking those heavy shots, hooks, or slices. For instance, merely shifting the ball location may set right that thin shot, which you tend to hit off the tee. Rather than getting dejected and vowing never again to turn up at a golf course, contemplate on a couple of tips regarding golf swing and strive at perfecting your golf swing.

Now tips on golf swing can be collected from a number of sources. A fine place to begin is with recent golf books or golf magazines. Here it is possible for you to come across golf swing tips from experts or teachers and instructors of professional golfers. Orders for magazines and books containing tips on golf swing can be placed online.

In case you are extremely earnest regarding getting a few vital tips regarding golf swing, and you possess the necessary money and the time at your disposal, think about registering for a few golf lessons or joining a golf clinic where a professional gives you expert advice.

In order to put you on the track of learning the appropriate golf swing tips, the following are some golf swing tips, which deal with the fundamentals of a golf swing.

1. Amongst the most vital tips on golf swing is to maintain a square clubface. Hitting the golf ball by means of a square clubface ensures that the ball goes straight and a long way. In order to maintain the clubface square, you require to keep a steady golf swing plane. Practice bringing the golf club right back and subsequently follow through on the very same swing plane.

2. Next, timing is of the essence in the case of your golf swing. Now you may wish to possess a steady swing speed all through the whole swing. In fact it does not help out with your golf swing if you tend to bring the golf club right back slowly and then speed up right through your swing.

3. Then, golf fitness is an essential factor for developing your golf swing. Doing some easy golf exercises can vastly enhance litheness and power.

4. The kind of golf grip that you have is a further factor in honing your golf swing. Ensure that you do not have a very rigid golf grip, or else it will hamper your golf swing action. A fine way of determining whether your golf grip remains very tight is if your arms and hands become sore after you have finished playing a game of golf.

5. In fact, the best tip on golf swing may not exactly be to your liking but it is nothing but practice, and more practice, that will assist you with your golf swing the most. The greater the time devoted to practicing, or being out there on the practice green or driving range, the greater the development you will find not just in the golf swing, but also in your total performance as well as scoring.

Golf Tip : Dress in Your Sunday Best to Stay Connected

Posted on Wednesday, 19th November 2008 in Golf Tips
Golf Tips
The fashion of golf has certainly evolved over the years hasn’t it? I mean the suit jackets of the Bobby Jones era, the 1970’s (say no more), and those terrible stiff collared shirts of the 80’s. But now…we have Under Armour, Nike Dri-Fit, or Adidas Climacool, amongst a host of others that keep us dryer, cooler, and allow us to swing freer than ever before. Clothes are not fashion anymore…they are equipment.

This article is about turning the oldest golf clothing, or your best suit into reliable golf equipment. I am going to take your suit jacket and turn it into a training aid that will help you improve both your long game and your short game.

What is the number one complaint we have when we put on a suit?

It’s too restrictive.

I can’t move.

What is the number one thing you hear on TV and in golf magazines about a consistent golf swing?

You must stay connected.

Your arms must stay connected to your body.

Well what does that mean…stay connected? It basically means that your arms won’t outrace your body. Another way to think about it is that we don’t want to let air into our armpits. It is a very hard thing to feel unless you work on it in a drill. So the irony is that a restrictive suit will help your game by keeping you connected.

There are several different drills out there that will help get this feeling. However, I like to provide tips that you can work on from the comfort of your home or office. That way you can practice everyday, even if you don’t have time to get to the range.

This drill is so simple because it is about getting a feeling for how your arms should stay with your body.

Put on your suit jacket.

Take your golf stance.

Make your back swing until you get to the set swing position. (Left arm parallel to the ground.) For a full lesson on the set swing please click here.

Make your downswing and stop when your right arm is parallel to the ground on your follow through.

Repeat as often as you like.

The reason this drill helps get the proper feeling is that we don’t want our arms to stray away from our body. If they do they won’t work together and it makes it much harder to have great timing. Great timing is very important for any player trying to have a consistent golf swing.

This also helps your short game because staying connected is very important when you are playing pitch shots. Your suit will not let your arms move away from your body, which makes it easier to for your arms and body to travel at the same speed. This makes a huge difference in the crispness of your pitches. For a full lesson series on pitch shots please click here.

Thank you for taking the time to read this tip. If you would like to see this tip in picture format please click here.

Good luck with your practicing and playing. May you “Play Your Golf Dreams” sooner with the help of FREE-GOLF-LESSONS.COM.

Women and Golf: Tips for Women Golfers

Posted on Monday, 17th November 2008 in Golf Tips

With the sport of golf gaining such mainstream popularity, it is no surprise that more and more women are starting to pick up golf clubs and head out to the course. Whether you are a young lady following in the footsteps of your parents, or a wife joining her husband for a few holes, there is no doubt that you will soon become an addict. But before you head out to the tee, keep these few fundamentals in mind.

The first step in swinging a golf club is properly gripping the club. First, rest the club on the ground, and then place your left hand on the club (if you are right handed). Make sure the thumb on your left hand is placed on top of the club’s grip so that it is pointing towards the ground. Your thumb and index finger will make a ‘V’ that should be pointing towards your chin. Then place your right palm on top of the thumb of your left hand. The ‘V’ of the thumb and index finger of the right hand should point towards the right shoulder. Don’t grip the club too tight; in reality you should place relatively little pressure on the club.

One of the most common errors I see women beginners make, is flexing the left elbow on the takeaway. This is wrong! On the takeaway, your left elbow should ALMOST be locked straight, and remain this way until the end of the follow-through.

I also see a lot of women bend their wrists when making contact with the ball; perhaps to try and help the ball into the air. Do not try to use your wrists to help the ball in the air. In reality, swinging DOWN, not up on the ball, is what carries it into the air.

Another thing women should keep in mind is that most of the power in your shot comes from your core. This means that gaining distance can be achieved by generating a good body turn at impact. Do not just use your arms in your swing. Use your whole body. Turn your hips as you are making contact with the ball.

These are just a few tips that I thought would be useful for beginner women golfers. Keep these in mind before teeing off. To really build a strong, fundamentally sound swing, I recommend going to a golf-pro in your area for lessons.

Nike Begs Michelle Wie, Just Do It.please! Also, Golf Tips for Body Rotation and Wrist Hinge

Posted on Sunday, 16th November 2008 in Golf Tips
Golf Tips
Although Nike is still standing behind Michelle Wie even after her horrendous showing at the Samsung World Championships, her agent, Greg Nared, has parted company with both Wie and the William Morris Agency.

It is understood that an agent who quits is quite common, but, in my opinion, Nared should be given a raise for hanging around Camp Wie for as long as he did (one year, so far her worst!). He consulted with Wie on the sixteenth hole of the Ginn Tribute where Wie was dangerously close to an all-time high score of 88 and I’m sure he was also mulling about his decision as Wie showed a thirty-six stroke difference between her score and winner Lorena Ochoa’s final tally. The William Morris Agency, unfortunately, cannot shake Wie from its roster as the parental units would only sign with the agency if the contract was not based upon Wie’s performance.

At least Michelle Wie was proud of herself “for not giving up this whole week”. I wonder if Nared feels the same way.

Carolyn Bivens’ optimistic belief in Wie makes me feel that she should manage a career which is currently winless in forty-one pro women’s events. “It was unrealistic to expect any player, at any age, to enter the LPGA and dominate right away,” the LPGA Commissioner stated. “… It’s way too early to give up on her, and it’s way to early to know what kind of career she will have.”

Besides our Michelle Wie summation, Golf for Beginners also offers up some easy golf tips on the pivot and the wrist hinge, two essential parts of your golf swing.
